Pursuant to Section 14-5-6 of the Marana Town Code, a customer may challenge, in writing, the accuracy of a utility bill. As part of the challenge, a water customer may request that the water meter be re-read or tested, provided that the customer pays for the meter re-read or meter test in advance. Costs associated with the meter re-read and/or meter testing will be refunded if the bill is found to be in error either due to a misread or if the meter test shows an over-calculation of volume by more than 3%. If the bill is found to be in error, the Marana Water Department will provide a corrected bill and the customer will have 20 days to pay the corrected bill.
Mediation may also be available in accordance with Section 14-5-6 of the Marana Town Code. For more information about mediation, please contact the Water Department.
